Rules





  • We will use the computer simulation for Strat-o-matic
  • Play approximately 1 week per day
  • Teams can trade.
  • The computer will suggest initial lineups and strategies. Managers can adjust as much as they want, or let the computer run.
  • Manager Report on the team page has all of the strategies a manager can adjust.  Email me if you want to change anything. 
  • Teams will have 27 players.  The 2 minor leaguers play on the team normally.
  • Teams will want about 6,000 ABs and 1500 IPs minimum for your team.  If you don't have those, email me with who you want to drop and pick up.  12-14 pitchers is recommended.
  •  Teams should make sure they have enough depth at each position, at least 2 players in each, or enough ABs to get through a year.
  • The simulation will limit players to about 110% of their actual playing time, so plan accordingly.
  • There are 4 phases to a season:
    • Online draft.  You need to make a Strat-o-matic account
      • Claim your team from the link I send out
      • Draft manual or set auto-draft.  NOTE: if you set it to auto-draft the computer will keep drafting even after your queue runs out, you need to check in periodically.
      • I will pause the draft at midnight Eastern time every night and restart at 9am Eastern in the morning.
    • "Winter." A week to clean up the team, swap out players and get the balance of positions and innings you need to make it through the season.
    • "Spring training."  A week to adjust the manager tendencies, lineups, pitching rotation, etc.
    • Season.  1 week/day approximately.  It should take about a month to replay a season.  Feel free to adjust your manager tendencies any time, just email me. 
  • Free agency
    • There are 2 Free Agency Periods: after 56 games; and 112 games
    • Teams can request players on waivers; waivers will be awarded in reverse order of standings at that time.
    • Go to the Free Agency link to find the current list of free agents
    • Sign in like a normal draft and use the online tools to search for players.  Email me your waiver request[s] in order as well as who you want to drop.
  • You can choose any ballpark from any era for your home.  You cannot change mid-season.
